Dr. McDonnell is a faculty member and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.  He is committed to and actively involved in the clinical education and training of medical students and residents at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Dr. McDonnell serves as a consultant to several orthopedic implant and device companies.  He is dedicated to advancing technologies that improve upon surgical techniques and patient care.

He also serves as a reviewer for several journals within the field of spine surgery.
